The principal eveut taking place at Heretauuga at present is the club championship, in which atiout six games1' o! the first round liarc been played. There was an exciting finish iv the game between 1). C. Coilius and E. S. Toogoor). Tliey wore all square at the 36th, and at the 37th Toogood drove a longer ball from the tee. However, Collins played a long second within a foot of the pin, holing for 3, against Toogood's 4. M. Blundell and V. Ryan were all square at the ttuu, but Ryan, playing some wonderful recoveries from bad lies, finished up a winner by i and 2. A medal round played on Saturday resulted:— K. D. Duncan, 7S—7—7l. D. Honour, 87—13— 7£ R. 0. Chesney, 80—5—75. S. A. Longuet, 87—12—75. D. E. Menzies, 93—18—75. The weekly bogey handicap was won by D. Marchbanks, with 1 up.
