The results lv detail wore as follow:— GREAT WELCOME HANDICAP, £30; four laps; from a standing start; for first division riders. First heat: J. Bishop (scr), 1: A. Manghnm (3scc), 2. Also stnrtcd: E. First heat: D. Roberts 1, Fv B. Applcyard 2. Also started: F. P. Jones. Boberts led from the start and won easily. Jones came to grief in tho third lap and Appleyard's engine failed as he was coming down the straight. Times: 93 • l-ssec; 90 3-ssec. Second heat: This heat was inadvortently stopped after tho first start and when it was re-started, came to a sudden oud in tho third lap. G. Trliford crashed on the southern bend when well behind the other two, and almost Immediately D. Hlggins foil on tho southern bend. C. Usshcr, who was following him close, could not avoid hitting him and also came down, fortunately neither of the riders wss seriously injured. Third heat: J. Richards'l, B. Hooper 2. Also started: H. V. Radcliffe. Jtadclifl'e led from the start, with Hooper next, but in tho second lap Hooper passed Radcllffe, who fell soon afterwards. Tho other two had a rare duel, each gaining and re-galnlng the lead, until at tho finish Richards won by about four lengths. Times: 04 2-ascc; 05 1-Osec. Final. IV Eoberts (llarloy) 1 J. Richards (Douglas) 2 Also started: G. Trllford (Douglas), who qualified in tho second llcnt. Itobcrts, Richards, nnd Trllford were in that order at tho end of tho first lap. KIMHRNIJ3 STADIUM GOLDEN HELMET, of £23; four laps; from a rolling start. First heat: .T. Ulshup, 1; C. Tonks, 2. Also started: E. Naylnr. Naylor drew (lie Inside running, and Bishop was on the outside. Tho Quecnslandcr led nut. of the straight, however, with Naylor next. With Kilmistcr, Bishop, and Wilkinson the starters, an exhilarating final was looked for, but although it appeared at first that Kilmister and Bishop would figure in a close contest orer the distance, Kilmister developed engine trouble, and lost his leading position. Bishop never faltered, and scored a popular victory by a good margin. Wilkinson crashed in the first lap. Times, 81 3-ssec, Sfisec. CONSOLATION RACE, of £13 10s, for riders eliminated from Golden Helmet contest; four laps, from a rolling start. First heat: W. Harvie, 1: C. Tonk3, 2. Also started; S. Palmer. There was a thrilling finish to this race. Palmer started on the inside, with Harvie in the middle, and the three were fairly close together for the first part of the .distance. Tonks went to the front towards the end of the third lap, Palmer dropping back through engine trouble. Harvie clapped on the pace over the final quarter, and snatched the victory by a wheel.
