A habit of women drinking in hotels was commented on by Mr. E. Page, S.M., at the quarterly meeting of the Wellington Lic'cnsing Committee, held to-day. Mr. Page said that in the Inspector of Police's report it was stated that on two days last month 40 women were'found drinking in hotels. "It is of course clear," said Mr. Page, "that a licensee is legally entitled to supply liquor to men and women, but the- cqmmitteo lfolds the view tha-t a licensee should not encourage that class of trade, and regards unfavourably the making of facilities in some hotels which encourages women to go there and staj; Ihere-and^drink." s .
