SARAH HURFORD AMES'S TRUST
DONATIONS TO CHARITIES
The late Mrs. Sarah Hurford Ames by her will directed that part of the annual income from her residuary estate is to be annually distributed to homes and other institutions in the city and suburbs of Wellington for poor and indigent children conducted by the Church of England, and.to homes and other institutions for the care and welfare of aged or infirm persons of cither sex by whomsoever conducted. The benefactress expressed a wish that the distribution of annual income be arranged so that it would reach the institutions participating during the first fortnight in tho month of December, to tho intent that the inmates of such iusitutions be enabled to enjoy the benefit of the income at Christmas time in each year. The Public Trustee, Mr. J. W. Macdonald, C.M.G., acting in conjunction with Mr. Douglas G. Jackson^barrister and solicitor, Wellington, the advisory trustee in the estate, announces that after consultation with and the approval of tho advisory trustee, allocations for 1930 have been made to tho following homes and institutions:—St. Barnabas' Babies' Homo Society, Khiuidallah, £3; St. Mary's Guild, Karori, £20; Anglican Boys' Home Society, Lower Hutt, £,5; Wellington City Mission, £10; Home for Aged Needy, £20; Victoria Ward, £25; Ohiro Home, £50; Salvation Army Eventido Home for Aged Ladies, £10; Homo of Compassion, Island Bay, £25; St. Joseph's Home for Incurables, £12. i Tho total amount allocated has been increased from the £92 distributed last year to £ISO for £1930, the realisation of certain assets having been effected in order to render the estate revenue producing to the fullest extent.
