HOMICIDE IN NEW YORK
AVERAGE OF THREE A DAY
BOTH SEXES SHOOT STRAIGHT NEW YORK, 13th November. The homicidal-minded population is growing in. numbers and becoming increasingly quick on the trigger, while pistolecrs of both sexes are shooting straighter than ever before. A glance through the crime records of thirty days since Jack Diamond was shot, shows that 91 were shot in New York, of whom 42 already are buried, and this takes no account of the suburban area. The city's record for last year was 357. So far this year the figures exceed these by 50 per cent. The New York "Evening Telegram" is demanding the authorities shall take immediate action.
