PRAISE FOR A BAND
"Music-Lover" (Otaki) writes to express appreciation of the concert given by the Tramways Band at the Otaki Theatre on Sunday afternoon. "Unfortunately it was not as largely attended as could have been wished. Had the people only realised the treat that had 'been provided, nothing would have kept them away. The whole programme was of the. first quality, and could not have offended any. May I mention specially the rendering of "Nearer My God to Thee" and "The Lost Chord"? "'William Tell" also will not be forgotten by those who heard it. The xylophone aiid trombone solos were also greatly appreciated. I should like to thank the band and its conductor for their fine work, and trust that at some future date they will again visit Otaki, when I feel sure they will meet with a great reception."
