PRISONERS SENTENCED
(By Telegraph.—Presa Association.) AVANGANUI, This Day. In the Supreme Court prisoners were sentenced by Mr. Justice Ostler. Eangi Aropata was granted a years probation for wilfully shooting a gelding, valued nt £16. at Karioi, the property of Marotutia Matin, and was ordered to pay the costs, £4 14s 6il. Restitution has already been made. Leighton Taylor was sentenced to 12 mouths' hard labour for unlawful carnal knowledge at Eangataua.
