CLAY BIRD SHOOTING

HUTT VALLEY CLUB ;

On Saturday afternoon on the; club's grounds at Taita, the members of tbeHutt Valley Gun Club took part-in the annual competition. for the Darrall: Cup. ■ Th« competition consisted of an aggregate of two matches of 21 birds and 15 birds..Th« weather conditions were not favourable to trap-shooting when the. first match of 21 birds commenced, and light rain was falling, tending to ijake things'unpleasant fpj?^ the shooters. la this match E. Flux and ■- E. Eanish led the field with 18: break* apiece. The weather conditions had.improved considerably when the second' match, of 15 birds was fired. A. Scott won this match by breaking 14 birds. : The winuer of the Darrall Cup was E.--. Flux, who broke 31 birds in the tw<v'! matches. Second place in the aggregate was filled by A. Scott, who broke 30 birds. . A Skeet match was fired during the afternoon and J. Brasell headed the list:: with 10 breaks. . ; Saturday's results are as follows, handicaps in brackets:— . .
