MAIL ROBBERY
BANDITS HOLD UP TRAIN
AFFAIR IN. CALIFORNIA
NEW YOKK, Bth November. Five armed bandits held up a Southern Pacific passenger train at Nobel, California, and stole an undetermined amount of cash and valuable mail reported to contain 50,000 dollars in currency, and fifteen bags of registered mail. A man boarded tho train as a passenger at Berkley and forced the crew to stop the train at Nobel, a small settlement. Hero four other men from an automobile appeared and stood by while the'first man rifled the mail and baggage cars. The robbers were heavily armed, and used a motor-car carrying two mounted machine guns. Heavy guards have been set on the roads in tho vicinity, in an endeavour to apprehend the bandits.
