OLD ORDER CHANGES

It is the twentieth century, and the thirtieth year thereof, and a recent issue of the "London Gazette" advertised the fact hy announcing that an old custom is abolished. Buried in its pages (says the "Daily Telegraph") was the announcement that the Ecclesiastical Commissioners would in future pay to the incumbent of Caddington (Beds) an annual stipend of £25, instead of the four quarters of ■wheat and four quarters of barley hitherto paid. Also, it was announced that to the incumbent of Clanfleld, Oxfordshire, an annual stipend of £5 would be paid instead of the annual corn rent of two bushels of wheat hitherto paid.
