INJURED AT FIRE
MAN'S FEAR FOR SISTERS
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) OAMABU, .9th November. Early this morning a house in Uro street, owned by the estate of the lateMrs. Direen, was gutted by fire. The sole occupant, a young man, Thomas Direeu, escaped in his night attire, but, ,thinking his sisters might have returned fpom Timaru, whore they were visting a sick brother, he broke into the burning house to make a search. He received severe cuts and was partially.overcome by smoke. He was removed to hospital, where he is doing well.
