MANOR PARK CLUB

A'medal competition was played on the Manor Park links on Saturday, and, despite the' wind, the splendid score ot bi net (80-10) was put in by H. G. Robertson, the winner.' The next best figure was D. Cody's 83-14-60. , , , The official winter closing ot the duo took--place-'yesterday,■ although play wi 1 continue throughout the summer as usual. Players were favoured with glorious atmospheric conditions and the day was voted both by members and visitors as being the most successful in the history of the club. The morning was occupied by a mixed Canadian foursome bogey, which resulted in a win for J. Burns and Mrs. Burns, with the creditable card ot 7 up. Second place foil to Mohnffey and Mrs. Mehaffey, with 4 up. The afternoon's entertainment took the form ot an I approaching and putting contest. In the ladies' section a tie was registered between Miss Whitwell and Miss Newman, while A. Murray proved the best among the men. On compjetion of the official competitions afternoon tea was dispensed, by the ladies of- the club, who also took the opportunity of-making a presentation to Miss G. Stevens, their secretary, in special appreciation of her work during; the year. "Mr. A; S. T. Butler, president, dealt, with ;'the' activities of the club during the season, remarking that the progress and development of the links were _ a source of gratification not only to him aud to the energetic acting-seccretary, MrJ.L.
