A meeting of the local branch of the" New Zealand- Society of Civil Engineers was hold last.week, when a paper was read by Mr. E. R. M'Killop, assistant waterworks and drainage' engineer of the Wellington City Corporation. The paper dealt with the problems of computing the sizes of storm-water pipings and general methods of storm-water control. There were about sixty members present, find a long discussion followed the reading of the paper.. On the motion of the City Engineer, Mr. G. A. Hart, a vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. M'Killop for his interesting and informative address.
