BACK TO OLD LABOUR WAY SYDNEY, 7th November. Mr. J. M. Baddeley, State Minister of Labour, .has informed union secretaries that the Government intends to pay the full basic wage to all relief workers, and will insist on preference to unionists, and provide full rations for all single unemployed workers. The Govern-icnt has.remitted all fines upon persons convicted of lawlessness on the coalfields during the protracted strike. It is reported that the Government also intends to reintroduce the 44-hour week in all the industries which hitherto enjoyed it.
