DESTRUCTIVE FIRE
OAPI3 TOWN, 27th September. The Wellington tannery and boot factory was gutted by fire this morning. The damage is estimated at £100,000. There was no fire brigade, and residents in pyjamas formed bucket chains and endeavoured to savo parts of tho plant. r Two hundred operatives have been rendered idle. .
