At Auckland, it was fine during Saturday morning, but rain fell in the afternoon. Yesterday was squally and changeable, and occasional nain fell with a fresh westerly wind. Wellington, also, had a fine Saturday morning, but it clouded over during tho afternoon. It was also cloudy mostly _on Sunday, and a strong north-west wind during the week-end made conditions unpleasant. The wind was, chiefly north-west at Christehurch, and weather mild "and fair, although a torn-1 porary change to the south-west took plaeo during Saturday evening. ' At Dunediu it was fine and sunny on Saturday morning, and again on Sunday morning; otherwise, the" weather was changeable and squally with rain at times. '■ -
The forecast is for strong, west to south-west winds, still of gale force at exposed positions, and unsettled weather with fairly general rain; snow on the high lands, and hail on parts of the coast; temperatures becoming cooler.'
