-A fire in the early hours of this morning in Canning's Buildings gutted two shops. The fire started, in .Jaram's drapery- shop and spread, to .' Smallfleld's stationery shop. The stocks in both places were destroyed by fire, smoke, and water. "-..-. Tho brigade was smartly on the scenes ,aud extinguished: the fire in an amazingly short space of time, thus saving the other three shops and Smallfield's printing'works in the block.
