NEW YOEK, 26th August.
The German airmau, Yon Gronau, landed on New York harbour at 3.46 p.m. local time and transferred ashore in police boats. He and his companions were greeted by a throng of ten thousand.
In an interview ashore, Yon Gronau said that they were unlikely to fly back because of the difficulties of getting fuel in the Arctic region. He added that tho flight was not yet a sufficient indication of the feasibility of the norththern air route between America and Europe.
