HAMILTON, This Day.
A collision between two cars oa th» Morrinsville-Hamilton road, at Newstead; on the evening oE Sth May, in which a young man, Thomas Shaw, was killed, led to the appearance of his cousin, Hector John Shaw, aged 20 years, in the Supreme Court at Hamilton, on a charge o£ negligently driving a car so as to cause death. After a retirement of three hours the jury returned a verdict of guilty, with a recommendation to mercy' on account ot the prisoner's youth. The evidence showed that the road wai clear and each .driver had a cte« view of the other.
