ORPHANS FROM AFRICA
COMING TO NEW ZEALAND
SYDNEY, 25th August,
Two girls, aged nine and seven respectively, .Diana and. ,Koseinary Fetch, arrived in, Sydney to-day by tho liner Nestor, and aro going to Now Zealand. Their father was formerly the manager of » largo tobacco plantation in Nyassaland, Africa, and was stricken by malaria. Ho was dying when tho girls' mother was killed by lightning. The father then died as'tho result of shock, leaving tho orphans.at the mercy of tho. world. Friends located relatives at To Kuiti. The children wero looked after by passongers outboard the Nestor. The girls' grandfather, Mr. W. L. Fetch, mot them hero and will see to their welfare on the voyage to Now Zealand.
A Press Association message from To Kuiti says that the father of the orphans mis a son of Mr. W. L. Fetch, who was farming in Feilding for many years, but is now retired and .csiding with a daughter, Mrs. H. P. Cooko, in Te Kuiti. The children will be taken earo of by the aunt and grandfather.
