INCIDENT IN SYDNEY

SYDNEY, This Day.
Alderman M'Elhone has resigned the chairmanship of tho Citizens' Beform Party in the City Council. His action is the outcome of the party's recommendation that the salary of Mr. Forbes Mackay be raised by £1000. "If necessary," he said, "I shall (resign and recontest my seat in the Fitzroy ward."
