PULVERISED COAL
SAVING IN SHIP COSTS

SYDNEY, This Day.
By burning pulverised .coal it is claimed that a saving of £20 a day is effected in tho running costs of the new German freighter Strassfurt, of the Hamburg-Amerika Line, which reached Sydney on her maiden voyage. Her sister ship, the Bitterfeld, burning ordinary coal, carries ten more firemen and consumes moro fuel. In future, the Strassfurt will use Australian coal for return journeys. It is understood that tho Manly Ferries will install plants and use pulverised coal.
