FAREWELL AT STATION
A HEARTY SEND-OFF
The farewell which was accorded him at the Thoriidon Stafion last evening should do much to hoarten: the Prime Minister (the Hon. G. W. Forbes) on his mission to tho Imperial Conference. Political friend and political'foo joined in wishing, Mr. Forbes and tho, members of his party Godspeed' and a safe return. ' • '•
His Excellency the Governor-General (Lord Blcdisloe) was represented at the station by Lieutenant ' Elworthy, and tho Mayor (Mr. G. A. Trotip) said farewell on" behalf of the ; citizens, -of Wellington. Others present included* the Leader of the Opposition, (the Right Hon. J. G. Coates), the Speaker of "the. House of Representatives (Sir Charles Statham), the Speaker of the Legislative Council (Sir Walter Carncross), the Acting-Leader of tho Legislative Council (the Hon. R. Masters), His Majesty's Trade Commissioner (Mr; L. Paish), the Acting-Prime Minister (thei Hon. E-. A. Ransom), all the Ministers; of the Crown, at present in. Wellington,and the executive of the United "Party.:
Enthusiastic 'cheers greeted Mr. Forbes as he arrived at the station, and these were renewed as the train steamed out carrying the Prime Minis-: ter on the first stage of his-momentous voyage. ' ' '-~". "" ~ . ',.' "... VT.. ■
