POSITION OF GUEST AND PEARCE ' ■■■■ ~
VANCOUVER, 7th August. A message from Toronto states that Jack Guest, holder of the Diamond Sculls, will be unable to compete at the Empire sculling races at Hamilton. Guest finds it impossible, after two weeks' earnest tfaining, to get into satisfactory condition. Consequently he will not compete in the contests this year, he says, in a letter to a local newspaper. , Pearce, the Australian sculler, w!>9 is at present training at Hamilton for the Empire Games, may become a citizen of. Hamilton. It is understood that he has been offered an excellent position and has accepted the offer.
