LONDON, 28th July. Describing his experiences as a railway worker in Canada, Mr. Liam O'Flaherty, the novelist, in "Two Years," says: "It is only after such a modo of life that ono understands why tho Australians and Canadians made such good soldiers.
"Their standard of life in the trenches was much higher than at home. For fear of losing their position in life aud being sent back to tho wilderness they fought like wildcats."
