MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. T. B. M'Neil, S.M., presided at a sitting of tlio Magistrate's Court to-day. Thomas Porsythe', a second offender for drunkonness, was fined £1, in do-1 fault 48 hours' imprisonment. One first offender for drunkcdiiess; was fined the amount of his bail, 10s, and two other first offenders, who spent the night in the cells, were convicted and discharged. Victor Hugh King, labourer, Hgud 45, and Joseph Eric Cornish, labourer, aged 18, were remanded until Monday on a charge of stealing two suitcases and contents of a total valuo of £19 ss, the properly of Eogisald Chapman and others. • ■ "
On the application of Dotective-Scr-geant Holmes, a remand until Monday was-granted in the case of Marcus Leach, engineer and labourer, aged L' 3, and Duncan Morton Cameron, plumber, aged 32, who aro jointly charged with the theft of a suit of clothes valued at £5, the property of James Ford. •
