MINISTERIAL PRAISE
The Winter Show is s to close this evening and for tho last day added.at- ; tractions have been arranged. A record attendance is anticipated, and it is hoped to wipe out the deficit of £492 on last year's figures. A visitor to the Show yesterday was the Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle, Minister of Industries and Commerce. He was escorted on his inspection of the stalls by Colonel G. Mitchell and Mr. E. T. M.Edmonds (secretary of the Wellington Manufacturers' Association). ~ Touching on his visit to the Show, in a conversation with a "Post" reporter, Mr. do la Perrelle said he was surprised at the splendid lay-out of the exhibits. "One can.realise very quickly," stated tho Minister, "that much work has been put .into the exhibition by. the oxeeutive officers; and well worthy are they for the praise they have received. I saw somo splendid work by New Zealanders; in it could be seen some very Snc craftsmanship. iLooking over the very many excellent stalls so well ■stocked of New. Zealand-mado goods, [ caino away with the impression that Now Zealanders engaged in many of the industries were craftsmen, and that their work spoke for itself. The pleasing feature .of the exhibition-is t-ho growth in the production of New Zealand manufactures. I sincerely compliment the Winter Show people on their splendid achievement."
