TO SAVE SITUATION

LONDON, 13th July.
England expects Chapman or raia to save the situation, writes the critic, but generally England's prospects are considered poor. Trevor Wignall, in the x "Daily Express," says that only a cloudburst, putting the wicket under water, can save England. Arthur Mailey, in the "Daily HeTald,*' says that England's chances are hopeless.
