By consenting to an operation for trachoma (an eye trouble), Woo Dak San, a Chinese murderer, may yield results of great value to science, but the doctors also expect that he will at least become blind from their treatment.
The State officials are willing that the operation should take place; but agreement has not yet been reached on the claim by tho condemned man's lawyers that he should bo released after the doctors have done with him.
