The most important of America's industries in the value of exports is machinery, totalling 612,735,771 dollars in 1929. Next comes the motor trade (tires excluded), 539,290,517 dollars. Refined petroleum products are third, o^i,----378,713 dollars.) The fourth and iifth are a long way behind, packing-house products (canned goods), 202,820,000 dollars, and iron and steel mill products 200,194,746 dollars. Rubber products rank tenth, 72,505,823 dollars, being preceded by flour, lumber, cotton, ,and refined copper products. Rubber tires account for 42,179,505 dollars included in-rubber products and excluded from the motor trade figures given.
