QUALITY DOUBTED
LEAGUE TOURISTS
Pear of the financial failure of the New Zealand Rugby League _ team's visit to Australia has been freely expressed by the New South Wales Bugby League, says the "Daily Pictorial."
Lack of knowledge of the standard of the team was so meagre that it was decided to leave fixtures for 4th August (Bank Holiday) and 9th and. 13th August until after the New Zealanders had made their debut in Sydney ou otli July.
The Board of Control was criticised on several points in connection with tho visit.
Mr. J. Quinlan pointed out that while the board insisted upon ■ making the fixtures for the visitors in New South Wales, undue "deference was paid the Queensland Rugby League, which was permitted to submit such an unsatisfactory programme as two matches against Queensland at Brisbane, and two other matches.
Mr. J. Edwards (country committee) objected strenuously upon the boards' demand that country centres should be charged with unlimited New Zealand players' allowances, as well as travelling and hotel expenses.
