MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Police and summons cases in the Magistrate's Court to-day were dealt with by Mr. E. Page, S.M.
A further remand until 16th July was granted in the case of Clarence Edwaid Duckcr, a railway cadet, aged 20, who is charged with breaking and entering the shop o£ Alex and Co., at 9, Farish street, and stealing jewellery of, a total value of £400.
One first offender for drunkenness who had spent the night in the cells was convicted and discharged.
Charged with receiving' cigarettes and other goods, of a total value of £6 ss, knowing them to have been stolen, Horace James Hodges, a compositor, aged 37, was remanded until 18th July. Bail was allowed in accused's own bond oi £30, and one surety of £50. Ivy Goodycr and Gustus Hope were each fined £3 for selling goods on Sunday. Hector Kenneth Claude Hodges, a labourer, aged 29, was also remanded uiitil 18th July, on a charge o£ breaking and entering the house of Arthur von Schultz by day,' and stealing goods of a total value "of £11 12s. ' "
Fiues of £2 ■ each were imposed on Arthur Doyle and James Leslie for being found on licensed premises after hours.
