INTEREST IN Y.M.C.A.
At a largely attended luncheon of the Y.M.C.A. Optimists' Club yesterday, sympathetic reference was made to the death of Sir Joseph Ward. The chairman (Mr. R. P. Staples) stated that the present Y.M.C.A. building in Willis street was opened during the previous regime of tho late Sir Joseph Ward as Prime Minister, and that the deceased statesman was present at the official opening and had evinced an interest in the work'ever since. A special resolution of condolence was passed.
