UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF

EED CROSS ACTIVITY

The Red Cross Unemployment Relief Committee held a meeting at Red Cross headquarters this week, the Rev. R. Inglis occupying the chair. It was stated that an application had been made to tho Mayor for tho use of tho Town Hall for an entortainmont to raise funds for the society's relief work. Report was made on another ease, a married man ..with a young family, who had applied for help in liuding work. It was stated that he had purchased a home on which there.was a mortgage. His.hearing had completely failed, and his eyesight was causing him a great deal of trouble, in consequence of which he had been out of employment for! some time. Up to date he had met his obligations, but he was getting behind, and was afraid of losing his home, in which his savings had been invested. The committee had found him work on odd days.
