HUTT VALLEY SHOW

The seventh annual show of the Hutt Valley Poultry, Pigeon, and Cage Bird Society commenced in the Labour Hall, Pctono, yesterday. The entries, which were received from many parts of New Zealand, were well up to the standard of previous shows in both number and quality. Competition was very keen iv all sections except that for ducks, in which there was only one exhibitor. Three championships wero decided. That for utility White Wyandottes was won by Mr. W. 3. Wilson, of Lower Hutt. Mr. T. B. Holdaway, of Hukanui, won. the fancy White Wyandotte championship. The championship for turbit pigeons went to Corrie Sturman, of Johnsouville. The following trophies were won iv the poultry classes: — Society's Cup for best bird in Show: E. D. Barry. Society's Cup for best bird in fancy classes: E. D. Barry. Sharpe Cup for best utility bird: A. Baker. "Hutt and Petono Chronicle" Cup for best bird bred and owned by member resident in Hutt Valley: W. J. .Wilson. Society's Cup for best utility Black Minorca: Mrs. C. Denny. , . President's Cup for best utility White Leghorn: A. Baker. . • John Ball Cup for best game: E. D. Barry. Society Cup for best bantam: J. Symington. 1 C. K. Smith Cup for best Pekin bantam: Kevin Barry. Society Cup for best duck: Williams and Winter. Winter and Williams Cup for aggregate points in all. poultry classes, including ducks: Williams and Winter. *The -judges were: For the fancy poultry Mr. T. Kennedy; for all other poultry Mr. R Marriott; for the fancy pigeons, Mr. W. Bailey; for canaries, mules, and finches, Mr. B. Airth; and for rollers, Mr. T. E. Casidy.
