FOOTBALL CASUALTIES
(To the Editor.) _ Sir,—We have been directed by tlir J. names Union to respectfully ask that the report that nineteen players were hurt in ope match at Thames be corrected per medium of your valuable columns, more especially as we understand that the above erroneous report was broadcast in Wellington over the wireless. The nineteen casualties referred to occurred during three matches, and when a dab of iodine on. a scratch is counted a casualty you will readily recognise that in publishing the above facts it is quite easy for the public to place a wrong interpretation on the report. Football at Thames is played in as good a sporting spirit as anywhere else in New Zealand.' Thanking you <y behalf of -the Thames E.U., H. G. MURRAY. Chairman.'- . ; . J5. O. BEOWKLEE, Secretarjr; !
