Heavy showers and wet fairways -wer« experienced on Saturday, and a cold southerly tested players' endurance' on exposed links. A reversal of form was shown in th» Mabin Cup play at Miramar. A fortnight ago, in the first round, M'Lean arid Halley won 11 up, the nest best being Waddel and Fearn, 6 up. Naturally everybody thought the cup was a gift for the former pair, but yesterday in a very strong gale the best they could do was 7 down. Waddel and Fearn were I down, thus M'Lean aud Halley went down to the latter, 1 down, the scores reading:—First round: M'Lean and Halley, 11 up; second round, M'Lean and Halley, 7 down; 4 up. First round: Waddel and Fcarn, 6 up; second round, Waddel and Fenrn, 1 down; 5 up. The next best were:—First round, Crawford and Mackey, 4 up; second round, Crawford and Mackey, 1 down; 3 up.
