LATE COMMERCIAL
LONDON PRODUCE PRICES.
The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 14th instant, from- the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — Tallow:-No auction this ■week.: Market continues quiet with no change in "prices. Hemp: Manila market dull and easy; "J" grade June/August shipment qxioted sellers £24. Sisal: Market dull and depressed. No. 1 fair average quality- for June/August shipment sold £26 55,.-. and July/September shipment quoted sellers £26 10s. . Mexican: It is. reported. -that Co-operative have reduced price ,6% cents c.i.f. New York, equal to £31 3s per ton. Reduction considered inadequate compared with prices of competing fibres and no sales made. Stocks increasing and- now amount to. 30,000 tons. Prospects are not encouraging. New Zealand: Market continues dull and no business reported. I'ruit: Kangitiki and Zealandic almost clear, and Port Fairy being sold. Granny Smith, 20s to 255; other apple prices unchanged. Difficulty in clearing large Jonathans. Pears: Improved market. Average prices are: Winter Cole, 11s to 13s; Winter Nelis, 13s to las; P. Barry, 12s to 13s; Keiffer'.s, 10s to 12s.
