While barometers have been rising over most of the Dominion, a depression toMhe eastward has deepened considerably. Consequently southwesterly winds became geueral during Friday night and increased to galo strength in parts.. Yesterday, owing"to tlie winds being westerly, the eastern districts, experienced fair weather, but the southerly has again brought showers to most districts, some stations having heavy falls during tho night. Snow fell on some of the raugcti of the South Island, and temperatures have once again become cold and wintry.
