NEW APPOINTMENTS
As a number of members of the Legislative Council arc due to retire shortly, it is' expected that an announcement may be made shortly of several appointments to the Upper House, recommended by Sir Joseph Ward, before relinquishing office. It is thought probable that the retiring Councillors will be reappoiuted for a further term, and that, some further new appointments may .be made. Amongst those who are considered likely nominees for Legislative Council honours are Mr. E. Masters and the Hoiu D. Buddo. ' , • - "It has not so far come oil/ said Mr. Buddo this morning, in reply to a .question as to whether there was any significance in a rumour associating his name with an appointment to the Upper House. . ,
