BYLAW OFFENCES

Offenders against the bylaws were dealt with. in.the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon by Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M.The 'following fines were imposed on persons charged with having failed to obtain heavy traffic .licences:— Eric A. Algar, £2; Queene Bradley, costs only, 10s; Ernest C. Harrison, cosjs only, 10s; James Price, £2 on each of two charges; Albert Shelbourne, £1 on each of four charges; Allen Wallace, £2. . Failure to give way. to a motor-car coming from the right cost Arnold G. H. Andrews £1. John H. Wilson and Frank Barker were lined 10s each for leaving motor-cars unattended. / On a charge of obstructing the footway with motor vehicles, a fine of 10s each was imposed on Edward Bartosh. and Young We. For a like offence Richard Poston and Percy Johnston were ordered to "pay costs only, 10s each; and on a charge of having parked a motor vehicle less than 15ft from a building line Young We was similarly dealt with. Ernest Berwick was fined 10s for failing to stop his motor-car on request. Parking a motor-car not parallel to the near side of a kerb cost John J. Birt 10s. For parking a motor-car more than 12in from a kerb, Mrs. J. Briton-Smith was fined 10s. . Charles B. Chapman, Dugald Itlacleay, and Edward G. Pinney were fined 10s each for not haying their motor vehicles properly lighted. For speeding, Clarence V. Farrell was lined £3, and Harold M. B, Osborn and Douglas R. Richards £2 each. ■ Percy S. King was ordered to pay 10s costs for riding a motor-cycle with a defective silencer. For driving the wrong, way in Hunter street Jack Maun was fined 10s, and a similar fine was imposed on Dunbar Sloaue for driving the. wrong way in Dixon street. Parking in a prohibited area cost Shirley Marriott. 10s. Robert Moore was fined. £1 for overloading a motor-lorry. Eric Mudgway, for parking less than 15ft from a building line, was lined 10s. John Patrick Ren was fined 10s for cuttiug a corner.
