:• A PLAUSIBLE FRAUD

TAIHAPE, Thia Day.
Alfred Joseph Ryan, a mail with several aliases, but young and presentable, was charged before Justices today with issuing bogus cheques and obtaining goods by false pretences.
' Hg cleverly masqueraded as a Public Works engineer, and defrauded a tailor and grocer. He said that he was married and had two children in Australia, also that lie was a returned soldier suffering from shell shock. Ho was sentenced to six months' imprisonment.
