BRITAIN V. TARANAKI

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, 22nd May. Following is the British team to play Taranaki on Saturday:— Full-back: R. Jennings. Three-quarters: J. Reeve, C. D.'Aarvold,' P. Murray, J. Morley. Halves: I\. S. Spong, H. Too'le. Forwards: 'P. C. Knowlcs, D. Parker, H. O'Neill, B. H. Black, J. MD. Hodgson, I. Jones, G. S. Beamish, H. Wilkinson. The eaptaiu, F. D. Prentice, will not play owing to an injured car, and Sobey, vice-captain, will not be able to play perhaps lor. two, or three weeks because of the injury to his knee received at Wanganui. The Taranaki team will not bo chosen till' to-morrow. " The British team to-day for the first time witnessed chopping and sawing contests when they visited the Lincoln Road Sports Club's Carnival, where several champions were competing. In the team given above, Jennings, a three-quarter, is plitymg full-back, and Knowles, a stand-off half (or centre threequarter) is included in the pack. It" is possbile that Knowles's name was telegraphed in mistake for that of D. E. Kendrew.
