FARMERS SEEK EXEMPTION

WHANGAREI, This Day.
The principal business of tho provincial Farmers' Union yesterday was a discussion of • a remit that the conference supports a proposal to increase the petrol tax sufficiently to enable the exemption of agricultural and pastoral lands from rates.
It was ultimately decided to insert the word "road" beforo "rates," and in this form the, remit was unanimously adopted. . ',
