The story o£ a dbg which was so devoted to its piaster that when bo was killed it committed suicide is being quoted in Germany. While out for a walk with his dog—a Newfoundland—the man, who lived at Lucca, was run over by a motoi'car and died from his injuries. After the funeral the dog refused to eat. On the third day it ran upstairs to tin. fifth floor of the house, jumped into the street through au open window, and was killed.
