Broadcasting has been put to a new and interesting use. An association of French wireless listeners conceived the idea of organising a concert in aid of the sufferers by'the recent floods. RadioParis took up the suggestion, and a brilliant programmo was arranged and relayed by tho principal stations in the provinces, except Toulouse, which could not join in owing to the interruption of the telephone wires by the disaster.
Tho listeners wore asked to imagine that they had paid for scats in a ku-ge concert hall. They were requested to send the price of these seats, wliieli they had to fix themselves, to the headquarters of the association;, Many
thousands of auditors acted in accordance with the suggestion, and money has flowed in. A first contribution of 100,000 francs has been sent to the Banque de France.
