("y Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, 21st May. The • steamer Waipahi, which .arrived this morning, brought the first direct shipment of oranges from the Cook. Islands. The consignment totals about 16,000 cases, of which 10,000 are for the Auckland market ' ' -' ' ' The Maui Pomare,'due towaVds the end of the week, will have on board 6000 cases of bananas from Samoa, half of which are for this market. She also brings 3000 cases of bananas from Niuo Island for the south. . . : - -.
It is "expected that from'now on to the end of the season ' there wiir be regular supplies of oranges' and bananas from the Islands. :
