LOSS OF LIFE IN INDIA
. - DELHI, 10th May. Parts of Southern India have been swept by a cyclone and torrential rain. At Ernajulam, in Cochin State, 15 were drowned by the capsizing of a boat, and hundreds of houses were wrecked, during a four days' downpour. Nilgiri, in the hill district of Orissa province, is isolated by heavy landslides on the railway. North-west India is suffering a heat wave. The shade temperature at Chhor, in Sind, yesterday was 110.
