Crawford, of the Aorangi, is at present on leave at Sydney, and has come ashore to undergo an operation. Captain W. Martin is now temporarily in command of tho Captain T. B. Sewell, of tho Marama, has transferred to the command of the Muunganul, and Captain Duncan Mac Donald has been appointed to tho command of the Marama. Captain G. B. Corby, of the Kaituna, has transferred to the command of tho Kaimanawa, relieving Captain W. W. Fish for holidays. Tho Ngakuta Is being placed in commission at Newcastle to-day with Captain M. An exceptionally fast trip from Halifax to Auckland was made by the Canadian National Steamships Company's steamer Canadian Transporter, which arrived at Auckland at 7 o'clock yesterday morning. The voyage occupied 36 days, whereas the usual time is 44 days. MAKURA DUE MONDAY. A wireless message has been received from the It.M.H. Makura, en route from San Francisco, stating that she expects to arrive In the stream at 0 o'clock on Monday morning.
