AUCKLAND, This Day.
Up to midnight five inches of rain had fallen since 9 o'clock on Thursday morning, and as it was still raining steadily this morning, it did not appear to be possible for a start to be made with the third cricket Test today. However, th eauthorities intend starting play as soon as the ground is tit late this afternoon.
